Dear Family,
Love,
Well everything is going well for the moment here in el salvador. after three families came to church last week with us, we only had 1 investigator in church yesterday. his name is jose gutirrez and he is 16 years old. his mom gave the permission for him to be baptized and even though he receives a lot of crap from his family, he still says he knows the gospel is true. it is awesome to see that!! He has a lot fo faith and he will be baptized this coming saturday. please pray for him. to answer all your questions, our transfers are next week and we had interviews this last week . in my interview, president told me i am going to stay for this next change most likely because he wants me to keep things going in this zone. he let me know that more missionaries are coming into our zone and will have 26 missionaries this coming change. in that interview as well, pres hintze just showed so much trust in me. we talked about every missionary and we both spoke of our love for those serving in the zone. Pres hintze has taught me so much. Also yesterday we had a meeting with all the ward mission leaders, bishops, stake president and president hintze. It was awesome because every leader had the spirit of love and service as we talked about great goals of the stake and zone. still, i know our zone can do even better living up to its potential.
i have not been sick at all for awhile which has been nice. All is fine. mom i do not want a package for my birthday and don't put money on my card because it still is just not working here on the el salvador end. so just wait till i get home and we can have a double birthday party--yours and mine together in April!!! i received a wonderful card from grandma george and i need to send her a thank you card because she sent me 50 dollars. i can use that to get a few items i would like to keep to bring home. Also i got the newspaper of belize from her!! i appreciated that. you asked what christlike attribute i have been working on lately. i have really been trying to work on self mastery because it's important. sometimes i allow myself to get discouraged or frustrated and i need to better control those thoughts and feelings. Elder nelson said that self mastery is something that all people need to develop`to be like the savior, and it is possible as we fast and pray often. that is what i am doing.
i want you to know that i love this work. i have watched a lot of the work of salvation videos and they are awesome. i think i find myself getting emotional about this gospel and about eternal relationships. i even have cried watching some of those videos. i got that from dad. i cry kind of easy, but i think its nice to be sensitive. i love this work. i cannot believe that i only have 3 months left and all the people that i have worked with for a long time are starting to go home. hey family, that is so exciting about the couples who have been baptized in dad's ward. what a great experience for you to see that mighty change that is talked about in the scriptures. mom, what a great work that you are doing, helping the sisters in your ward teach that lady. do you actually have a cell phone now because you talked about texting her??? i know it is hard for people here to give up their coffee. you can always buy them soy coffee or corn coffee which is not against the word of wisdom or even hot chocolate is a good way to substitue the coffee. it is good you went to the temple and put her name in. i know through her prayers and yours, she will overcome it. We had a lady who suffered a bad headache for a week straight to give up coffee, but she did it. it is possible and if she knows that to gospel is true, she will do it!!!
Wow i think that spencer is taller than i am now. that is crazy!! good job on your basketball tournament. lizzie, good luck on starting your second semester at WSU. Chelsie, way to serve the little children. you know heavenly father loves them and you a lot! dad, have a good trip to california. i am glad that all is well at home. I love you all so very much and hope that you have another great week!!!
Love,
Elder George
