As you can see we are having a good time in Silver City! These are some pictures from our President's day excursion. Alicia and Katelyn were not feeling too great, so they stayed home, but we boys had a great time. We visited the Gila cliff dwellings. It was a beautiful day, about 65 degrees and sunny. We had a great time exploring the cliff dwellings - there was almost no one else there so we had the place to ourselves. The park guides were very helpful and the boys were intrigued by everything they taught us about the people that lived in these cliffs about 800 years ago.
In that same area is a natural hot spring. It was about a mile hike along a river (with 2 river crossings) to get the the hot springs. Once there we enjoyed the pools that someone has constructed. The hot spring joins the river in the area where 4 or 5 pools have been created. Someone has also constructed small dikes and canals so that you can control the water temperature by simply moving a few rocks. We had a great time soaking in the warm water.
